Kathleen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years working as a psychotherapist assisting individuals and families. After many years working in an adolescent treatment program and in schools as a crisis and supportive counselor, Kathleen has now expanded her private practice to full time.
Working with adolescents on depression, managing and reducing anxiety, developing effective coping skills, improving self-esteem, and resolving family conflicts are areas that Kathleen has had significant success with clients. Her philosophy and approach encourages her clients to be pro-active in establishing goals and identifying the necessary tools to reach their fullest potential.
Kathleen has an energetic and empathic style that is easily received by adolescents and parents alike. As a mother of two, she understands the daily stressors of parenting and provides parental guidance and coaching to effectively manage emotional and behavioral concerns. She uses Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) techniques, Family Systems theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Techniques, and Solution-Focused therapies to assist adolescents, adults, and families.
In addition to working with adolescents, Kathleen also sees adult individuals who are seeking assistance with life issues, depression, relationship issues, and stress management. She has had extensive experience helping adults explore the many challenging and stressful issues of life by creating a vision and goals that lead to ultimate growth.
